Over the years, we’ve accumulated a set of broodmares that produce smart, kind, and trainable individuals with a lot of natural talent and speed. Some of the mares are home raised,,,,by stallions that we’ve owned and loved; others have been purchased with an eye on their pedigrees, conformation, and other attributes that we felt would cross well with the stallions that we currently own. This set of mares has produced and continues to produce foals that grow into great prospects! I’ll add pics here of the mares,,,,,,and pedigree information.
(Buckskin, AQHA, 15 hands)
JT Dun Gone Kool aka Kool Aid was purchased from James and Teresa Vance. Her first foal for us is the gorgeous Koolest aka Lemmie. Kool Aid is a AAA race mare, from a solid family of race winners. We look forward to many babies out of this great daughter of First N Kool.
(Brown, AQHA, 14.3 hands)
Dox Basic T Bar aka Mindy is a proven producer of winning performance horses in a variety of events. She brings her classic ‘cowhorse’ good looks and pedigree to the equation, plus she’s closely related to a stallion we stood for several years and really liked his trainable offspring. Mindy crosses so well with the race horses……her babies are elegant, correct, and super trainable.
(Brown Tobiano, APHA, 16 hands)
Beautiful Cherokee is a mare that I raised. Sired by Champion Cherokee Treasured and out of a super producing daughter of my stallion Big Country, Cherokee is not only homozygous tobiano, she’s homozygous black….and if her foals to date prove anything, she’s homozygous super producer as well!
(Bay, AQHA, 15 hands)
Kiss My Bud, sired by Fishin Kisses and out of a Strawflyin Buds dam, produces a very nice foal every year. Her babies are quick, super athletic, and attractive individuals.
(Grey, AQHA, 15.3 hands)
Shakealotta, daughter of Royal Shake Em. She is a super producer of good minded individuals……..looking forward to more of her babies!!
(Brown, AQHA, 15 hands)
Panthers Princess….my first experience with Panther Mountain offspring. Thank you Guy Weimer for selling me this sweet mare. You made me a more serious horse addict than I had ever been. I love this Princess. She is by Panther Mountain,,,,,and out of a Runaway Winner dam.
(Bay, AQHA, 15 hands)
The first foal out of Panthers Princess. This is Panthers Purr by Gitngone.
(Black Tobiano, APHA, 15.3 hands)
Another daughter of Cherokee Treasured, this one is Treasured Blessing. She is out of a AAA race mare by Calyx. Blessing was orphaned when she was 14 days old…resulting in a lot of time and money being spent on her care! She’s paid us back over the years though with gorgeous foals like this one! Her babies have sold to barrel racing homes. She has a half brother that had a very nice 1d career for many years.
(Bay Tobiano, APHA, 15.1 hands)
Special Bugs APHA is a daughter of 1d barrel horse and sire Flashy Bugs. She’s a beautifully made mare, kind and sweet, and a super athlete. She remained with us because she was kicked as a baby resulting in some vision problems. I’m happy that we kept her. She’s the only Flashy Bugs daughter that I have.
(Black, Appendix QH, 15.3 hands)
Will have to take updated pics of this mare this summer as she’s grown into a beautiful mare. This is Proper Ending as a two year old in the first pic and when she was a weanling in the second. Her dam, Proper Etiquette, was a hard knocking TB race mare that retired sound at age 8, and came to live with us on the ranch. A bloodline in TBs that I particularly like, Proper Reality, made her a favorite here along with her incredibly kind and sweet disposition. This filly, Proper Ending, is ”Eddie’s” last foal as well as the last foal by Basic Black Spruce AQHA. She puts an interesting combination of bloodlines onto one piece of paper,,,,,,and breeding her to the racebred AQHA stallions looks to be a winning combination.
(Black Tobiano, APHA, 16 hands)
And this girl is Nahla! Nahla was injured as a baby…..her right front ankle was stepped on by a mare and she spent much of her early life seriously lame. Over time the leg healed fairly well, she’s sound, but not for any more than light riding. She is by my son of Panther Mountain, Flyin Panther and her dam is the good APHA mare Beautiful Cherokee. Nicely bred, beautifully made, a great color,,,,,,disposition and ability to spare,,,,,,she has a spot for life in the broodmare group.
(Brown Tobiano, APHA, 15.1 hands)
Better N Cash is the last foal from two of my favorite Paint horses. Big Country, her sire, is a horse I bought as a weanling from Royse Ranch in Oklahoma and owned for his entire life. Broodmare sire deluxe, I’m proud to have this very nice, quite likely homozygous, daughter of his. Her dam, Mia Cash Too, was out of a daughter of Indians Image and by Mia Cash,,,,,a AAA son of Dash for Cash. Nice family of horses, top and bottom, this one is a fun personality, well bred, and a good producer.
(Dark Brown AQHA, 15.3 hands)
Hot Summer Mountain, daughter of Champion Panther Mountain and out of a Zevi daughter, she’s a broodmare extraordinaire. Big, large frame, perfect feet, and legs,,,,this one is a super producer of good looking, fast, athletic prospects.
(Brown Appendix QH, 15 hands)
Clever Quillo is part of a maternal family that quite accidentally, and fortunately, came to live here. While attending a horse sale quite a few years ago, a spring storm blew in. The weather was bad enough that there was no way I was going to make it home, so I stayed for the second day. On the second day, a dispersion of horses came in from The Hat Ranch in New Mexico. In the group was a very pretty, thin, keen headed brown mare with a tiny foal at her side….born that day at the pens behind the barn. Her back foot had been stepped on, her mama had an abscess the size of a football on her neck….I looked at that little baby and knew she wouldn’t make it if she got sent back out into the pens. So I bought her and her mother. The mare’s name was Doll Sin……the filly at her side eventually was named Simply Zippy. Simply Zippy became THE producer of winning barrel horses. Every foal she ever had is a winner,,,,,,of money, saddles, trailers, 1d competition,,,and most of all…..the hearts of their owners. This mare, Izzy , is a daughter of Doll Sin…Her sire is an Elkman son out of a AAA Moon Lark dtr. Izzy is quirky, her foals are quirky as well. The amount of ability and speed is pretty amazing. Izzy will always have a home here…..simply because she’s part of what could have been a tragic ending for a cool older mare from New Mexico.
Introducing Lil Black Panther. I only have these baby pics of this girl; I will take some new ones this spring when she sheds off. I did not intend to keep this filly, however, when the very untimely death of Flyin Panther occurred, I decided to keep this girl. Her mama is old Endless Cash, an own daughter of Roll the Cash. Her sire is my son of Champion Panther Mountain, Flyin Panther. This filly should have been someone’s barrel horse, but I couldn’t bring myself to part with her.
Black Russian. (Panther Mountain dtr.)
AAA daughter of Panther Mountain
Black Russian, aka Russian is a gorgeous Panther Mountain daughter out of a Chocetta (Hempen/Jet Charger) female family. She’s a lovely tall mare, AAA race, produces excellent foals, and has several coming up currently in barrel racing training.
Pecos Panther, daughter of Panther Mountain out of a Moon Lark daughter.
Alcohol and Ambiance aka Louisiana daughter of Panther Mountain out of Betty Shine! Producer of over 150k in race winnings.
KSS Firebird, g dtr of Judge Cash.
Tesla, by Furrtreeous First and out of Jewel Mountain by Panther Mountain.
(Bay Tobiano, APHA, 16 hands)
Western Sweets is the last descendant of my original Paint stallion Western Bugs. Western Bugs was AA at the track, had ROMs in multiple events, was a 1d sire of barrel horses that have won more than 100k over the years, but more than any of that,,,,,,,When I went to Idaho to look at him prior to the purchase, I knew he was the horse I had been looking for my whole life! The day I saw him, I knew this one was IT! Purchased in partnership for a lot more money than I could afford at the time, Bugsy proved to be everything I had hoped. His daughters have all been super nice mares, good producers of very usable and versatile horses. His offspring are rodeo horses, barrel horses, ranch horses, and just all around good citizens! Western Sweets dam, Appealing Sweets TB, was a daughter of Valid Appeal one of the TB industry’s leading broodmare sires. Western Sweets is the ONLY Paint grand daughter of Valid Appeal in the world. She is the dam of Carrie Whittaker’s nice gelding G.
(Bay, AQHA, 15.2 hands)
This mare is Special Jules AQHA. She is out of an older Blondy’s Dude bred mare that I had for many years and by Red Eye Special AAA. She combines some really nice older race and performance bloodlines and her foals certainly show it. This particular foal is owned by a young PRCA cowboy, Cameron Morman from Glen Ullin.
(Brown Tobiano, APHA, 16 hands)
Big N Beautiful is a home raised daughter of Big Country and an Easy Jet g dtr. This mare, more than any that I’ve ever raised, epitomizes the value that Big Country had as a sire. His daughters are big, correct, very maternal producers of outstanding foals….every. single. year. Beautiful’s babies are all around the U.S. having been sold to eventers, trail riders, rodeo competitors, and ranchers. I kept one of her daughters, Beautiful Cherokee, and wish I would have more.
